Danam Nagender Warns Housing Officials Over Indiramma Beneficiary Shortlist

Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender strongly criticised Housing Department officials on Tuesday over alleged negligence during the verification of beneficiaries shortlisted for Indiramma Houses. He claimed that applicants from outside areas, including Kukatpally, Moosapet, Erragadda, Amberpet, and Nampally, had been erroneously shortlisted for housing units intended for the Khairatabad constituency.
Speaking to the media, Nagender expressed anger over the scrutiny process, demanding strict action against officials responsible for the errors. He accused the department of gross negligence and questioned whether staff had properly verified the applications before finalising the list.
Nagender alleged that officials have shown a lack of respect toward elected representatives, including Ministers and MLAs. During his remarks, he warned officials that he was prepared to adopt aggressive measures similar to those used by Old City legislators, referencing a past incident where he spent 12 days in jail.
The confrontation follows tensions from three days earlier, when Nagender publicly condemned Housing Department officials for conducting a lucky draw to select beneficiaries for Indiramma Towers without waiting for his arrival.
Expressing displeasure over that incident, the MLA questioned the disregard for official protocol and stated that he would serve a privilege notice against the officials involved.
