Cyberabad Police Seize 150 E-Cigarettes Worth Rs 3 Lakh in Madhapur Raids

The Cyberabad police seized 150 e-cigarettes valued at approximately Rs 3 lakh following raids on two commercial shops in the Madhapur area of Hyderabad. The inspections took place at retail outlets situated in Hi Tech City and Ayyappa Society.

Police teams conducted searches across both premises, checking the establishments before discovering and confiscating the stock of electronic vaping devices.

Following the seizure, police emphasized that the sale of e-cigarettes remains entirely illegal throughout the country. Authorities conducted the checks to curb the unlawful distribution and possession of banned products within the locality.

Under the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act, 2019 (PECA), the central government enforces a comprehensive nationwide ban. The legislation strictly prohibits the production, manufacture, import, export, transport, sale, distribution, storage, and advertisement of electronic cigarettes and all related vaping supplies.
