Cyberabad Police Chief Dr M Ramesh Holds Border Coordination Meeting to Curb Crime

Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dr. M. Ramesh led a coordination meeting with senior police officers from Hyderabad, Future City, Sangareddy, Medak, and adjoining districts to strengthen border cooperation and curb cross-border crime. The meeting focused on establishing seamless coordination, swift intelligence sharing, and joint operations among neighbouring police units.

During the meeting, Dr. Ramesh emphasized that criminals frequently exploit jurisdictional boundaries to escape law enforcement. "Offenders often commit crimes in one jurisdiction and flee to another, making seamless cooperation among police units crucial for their quick identification and arrest," Dr. Ramesh said.

To address this issue, the Police Commissioner urged officers to leverage technology, CCTV networks, and intelligence inputs to improve crime detection and prevention. He directed officials to maintain continuous surveillance on rowdy-sheeters, history-sheeters, interstate criminal gangs, and cyber offenders. Dr. Ramesh also stressed the importance of ensuring immediate sharing of actionable information among border police units.

The coordination meeting served as a platform to review the functioning of several key police wings, including law and order, crime, traffic, the Special Operations Team (SOT), the Special Branch, and Cyber Crime wings. Senior officers from the participating jurisdictions delivered presentations detailing the prevailing conditions, operational challenges, action plans, and strategies to strengthen inter-departmental coordination in their respective areas.

A major focus of the discussions was the implementation of practical measures for day-to-day operations. These included sharing intelligence on habitual offenders and interstate gangs, establishing joint check-posts, and conducting joint patrolling. The officers also discussed utilizing WhatsApp groups for instant communication and sharing information regarding missing persons and unidentified bodies.

Furthermore, the plan involves expanding CCTV coverage, improving cybercrime coordination, managing VIP bandobast, and handling traffic management during religious festivals and major public events. The officers also discussed strategies for the prevention of communal tensions and ensuring a coordinated response during natural disasters.
