Cyberabad Police Advise IT Firms on Staggered Early Logout Amid Rain Forecast

The Cyberabad Traffic Police issued a public advisory on Monday afternoon, July 27, 2026, appealing to information technology companies and other organisations operating within the Commissionerate limits to consider allowing their employees to leave work early in a staggered manner. The police made the appeal to minimise travel-related risks for commuters and to ease traffic congestion across the region amid forecasts of adverse weather conditions and ongoing rainfall.

In the advisory issued in the afternoon, the police department explained that staggered early logouts by corporate offices would help reduce sudden pressure on the local road network. Authorities emphasized that spreading out departure times across different shifts would facilitate smoother vehicular traffic movement and support the uninterrupted functioning of essential services during the rainy period.

To manage the situation effectively on the roads, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-I) formally requested companies opting for early logouts to inform the police in advance. Organisations choosing to send staff home early were asked to provide information regarding their office locations as well as their proposed logout timings to the traffic authorities.

The police stated that obtaining this advance information would directly enable them to deploy personnel at key locations and make appropriate traffic management arrangements. These measures are intended to maintain smoother vehicular movement, particularly around major IT corridors and commercial hubs operating within the Cyberabad police limits.

The police appeal followed a weather update released by the India Meteorological Department-Hyderabad Centre at 3:47 p.m. on Monday afternoon. The IMD forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers, with maximum wind speeds reaching up to 40 kmph, as very likely at isolated places over the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area during the next two to three hours.

According to weather observations recorded by the Telangana Development Planning Society till 5 p.m., rainfall was reported across several areas in the region. Uppal recorded 20.3 mm of rainfall, while 18.8 mm was recorded in Thatiananram of Abdullapurmet, and 4.8 mm was recorded in ESS D.P. Pally in Dundigal.
