Congress Asks Konda Surekha to Resign as Raja Singh Alleges Money Dispute

The Congress high command has asked Telangana Endowments Minister Konda Surekha to resign from the state cabinet on Thursday, sparking intense political developments in Hyderabad.

The directive came after the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee disciplinary committee recommended stringent action against her, including her removal from the cabinet, in connection with "anti-Chief Minister" and "anti-Congress" remarks made by her daughter, Suhsmitha.

Suhsmitha had reportedly levelled corruption allegations against the Telangana Chief Minister, triggering the disciplinary review. Following the high command's demand for her resignation, reports state that the minister is preparing to announce her future course of action amid speculation of a showdown between the Konda couple and party leadership.

Reacting to the developments, Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh made allegations that quickly circulated widely and stirred fresh debate across the state's political circles. The Bharatiya Janata Party legislator claimed that Surekha was being forced out of the party over a dispute regarding the distribution of money shares rather than for political reasons.

Singh also alleged that corruption has always been synonymous with the Congress party as the controversy surrounding the minister's cabinet position continues to escalate.
