CMC Launches Beyond Routine Drive To Clear Legacy Waste In Cyberabad

On 20 July 2026, the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) launched a special sanitation drive called 'Beyond Routine – Extra Hour Service' to clear legacy waste and unattended garbage in Cyberabad, starting at Srila Park Pride Road in the Kukatpally Zone. The initiative, organized in association with Hyderabad Integrated MSW Limited (HIMSW), aims to strengthen local sanitation operations, improve waste management, and enforce strict action against illegal dumping.

The programme was officially inaugurated by Venu Gopal Reddy, the Additional Commissioner (Sanitation) of the CMC. Following the initial phase in the Kukatpally Zone, where legacy waste was cleared, the initiative will be rolled out in phases across all other zones to systematically address identified legacy waste locations across the Corporation limits.

According to a press release, the drive is specifically intended to supplement the regular daily sanitation operations of the municipal corporation. By introducing additional manpower and machinery, the CMC aims to speed up the removal of long-pending legacy waste, unattended garbage dumps, and waste that has accumulated along road margins, in open plots, and at other identified locations.

During the inauguration, Additional Commissioner Venu Gopal Reddy made an appeal to local citizens, commercial establishments, and street vendors to refrain from dumping waste on roadsides, open spaces, and vacant plots. He urged the public to actively participate in the cleanup efforts by ensuring they hand over segregated waste only to authorized door-to-door collection vehicles.

To ensure the long-term success of the drive, the Corporation announced that it would strengthen surveillance against illegal waste dumping. The CMC will also continue its strict enforcement of the 'No Bin – No Trade' policy, under which commercial establishments are required to maintain waste bins on their premises and ensure the scientific disposal of all waste.
