Cement-Laden Lorry Plunges off Shamshabad ORR, Driver Injured

A lorry loaded with cement bags plunged from the Outer Ring Road in Shamshabad on Thursday morning, leaving the driver injured. The incident occurred after the heavy vehicle crashed through the barrier and landed on the ground below.

The lorry, bearing registration number TG29T3688, was transporting a consignment of cement from Kodad in Suryapet district and was en route to Tuljapur in Maharashtra when the accident took place.

Upon receiving an alert via the Dial 100 emergency helpline, personnel from the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport police station rushed to the accident site. A police patrolling vehicle attended to the scene and transported the injured driver to a nearby private hospital for medical care.

The driver was identified as 40-year-old Illaiah. According to hospital and police reports, he escaped with injuries and his condition is currently stated to be stable.

According to preliminary information gathered by the police, the accident is suspected to have occurred when the driver dozed off at the wheel. The lorry subsequently struck the railing along the expressway, overturned, and plummeted into bushes alongside the service road.
