Banjara Hills Police Arrest Marble Trader for Forging Lease to Encroach Property

The Banjara Hills police have arrested a marble trader, Kamal Kishore Bhansali, for allegedly forging a rental agreement to fraudulently acquire a GST registration and attempting to encroach upon a prime property located in Banjara Hills. Bhansali, who operates as the proprietor of Bhansali Marble Enterprises, was taken into custody after an ophthalmologist, Dr. Rao, lodged a formal police complaint against him.

According to Banjara Hills sub-inspector K. Vijay, the disputed property belongs to the doctor’s mother, Bhoompally Ramamani. Because of her prolonged ill health, Dr. Rao held the general power of attorney and was actively managing the estate on her behalf. Police investigations revealed that Bhansali allegedly forged Ramamani's signature to draft a fake rental deed for the premises, acting with a clear malafide intention to establish occupancy and gradually encroach upon the site.

During police interrogation, Bhansali allegedly confessed to the crime. Investigators noted that he admitted he had never approached Ramamani or her son to obtain a legitimate no objection certificate or official land authorisation. Instead, Bhansali bypassed the owners entirely and submitted the fabricated paperwork directly to government portals.

Bhansali subsequently used the forged rental deed to deceitfully procure a GSTIN registration under his business name. Once the matter came under the police scanner, the GST department launched an independent inquiry into the fraudulent submission. Tax authorities recorded the landlady's statement and immediately suspended Bhansali’s commercial registration.

The Banjara Hills police registered a criminal case against the merchant under Crime Number 611 of 2026. Officers booked Bhansali on charges of forgery, criminal intimidation, and breach of trust under the BNS. Following the registration of the case, the police produced the accused trader before a court for judicial remand.
