Auto-Rickshaw Driver Abdul Rauf Murdered in Hyderabad Late Wednesday Night

An auto-rickshaw driver was murdered late Wednesday night in Hyderabad, marking the second killing in the same police zone within 24 hours and raising fresh concerns over law and order in the area. The victim has been identified as Abdul Rauf, a resident of Jahangirabad.

According to the police, the incident took place at around 11:30 pm. Rajendranagar Deputy Commissioner of Police Srinivas stated that eyewitnesses reported seeing two to three individuals attack Rauf. A special police team has been constituted to track down, identify, and apprehend those involved in the killing.

Investigators are currently probing the circumstances surrounding the killing and are working to determine the exact motive behind the attack. Rauf's wife said he had left home to carry out his routine work as an auto-rickshaw driver and alleged that he was called out before being targeted and attacked. She appealed to law enforcement authorities to identify the culprits responsible and ensure justice for their family.

Rauf's family has also provided the names of two persons to investigators in connection with the fatal incident. However, police noted that the alleged involvement of the named individuals has not yet been established and that the probe is actively underway.

Following the incident, DCP Srinivas said that police personnel will intensify enforcement action against late-night illegal activities and substance abuse. Authorities will also continue conducting enforcement measures under Operation Chabutra across the Old City.

The killing occurred less than 24 hours after another murder in the same police zone, when a rowdy-sheeter was brutally stabbed to death. Haji Sohel was allegedly attacked and murdered by unidentified persons in Hyderabad's Mailardevpally area during the early hours of Wednesday.

In that earlier incident, a Dial-100 call was received by police at around 6 am informing them that a man was lying injured in the area. A patrol team immediately rushed to the spot and found the victim dead with multiple injuries.
