Army Colonel's 22-Year-Old Son Dies After Car Overturns in Yapral

A 22-year-old student lost his life in a road accident in the Yapral locality of Hyderabad early on Monday morning. The victim, identified as Vellangulam Varun, was the son of a Colonel in the Indian Army. The incident occurred when the car he was driving lost control and overturned, leading to fatal injuries.

The police registered a case following the accident and have initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the crash. The tragedy took place as Varun was returning home after spending time with his friends.

According to the details provided in the police complaint lodged by the victim's father, Colonel Nalin Mohan, Varun had left his residence at around 7 p.m. on Sunday. He had gone to meet his friends in the nearby Sainikpuri area. The accident occurred at around 4 a.m. on Monday during his return journey.

The police stated that Varun was allegedly driving the car at a high speed at the time of the incident. While navigating the road, he lost control of the vehicle. The car then rammed into a roadside slope situated directly in front of a house, causing the vehicle to overturn.

As a result of the impact, Varun sustained severe head injuries. Two of his friends, identified by the police as Ali and Arun, were also in the car at the time but escaped with minor injuries.

Immediately after the crash, Varun's friends managed to shift him into another vehicle and rushed him to the Military Hospital. However, doctors at the medical facility confirmed that Varun had died while on the way to the hospital.

The police are currently investigating the matter further to piece together the exact sequence of events that caused the vehicle to veer off the road.
