Ameerpet Mobile Shops Booked After Over 3,000 Counterfeit Phone Panels Seized

The SR Nagar police have registered a case against several mobile shops in Ameerpet for allegedly manufacturing, possessing, and selling counterfeit back panels of major smartphone brands. The police action follows seizure operations across three local shops that yielded more than 3,000 suspected fake panels bearing the branding of OnePlus, Oppo, and Realme.

According to police, the case was registered on September 1 following a formal complaint lodged by Hemanth Sharma. Sharma approached authorities as an authorised representative of OnePlus, Oppo, and Realme.

In the complaint, Sharma alleged that certain commercial entities operating in the Ameerpet area were actively involved in the unauthorised distribution and sale of products. The complaint noted that the items bore identical or substantially similar reproductions of the three smartphone brands' intellectual property and product packaging.

Subsequent search and seizure operations were carried out by police personnel across multiple stores in the locality. At Mahadev Mobile Store, officers seized 371 counterfeit Realme back panels, 424 counterfeit Oppo back panels, and 195 counterfeit OnePlus back panels.

Inspectors carried out a second seizure at Shree Ganesh Mobiles. From that location, officials confiscated 360 counterfeit Realme back panels, 368 counterfeit Oppo back panels, and 440 counterfeit OnePlus back panels.

Further seizures were conducted at Durga Telecom, where police confiscated 347 counterfeit Realme back panels, 288 counterfeit Oppo back panels, and 239 counterfeit OnePlus back panels.

Police said an investigation is continuing to trace the primary source of the counterfeit products. Investigators are also working to identify all individuals connected to the manufacture, possession, and commercial sale of the stock.
