17-Year-Old Student Injured in Clash Over Missing Money at Boduppal Hostel

17-Year-Old Student Injured in Clash Over Missing Money at Boduppal Hostel

A 17-year-old Intermediate student suffered serious head injuries and collapsed unconscious on Thursday following a clash with his three roommates at the Sri Chaitanya College hostel in Boduppal.

According to the Medipally police, the four students lived together in a shared hostel room. Prior to leaving for their homes, one of the students had kept an amount of Rs 2,500 in the room. Upon returning to the hostel, he reportedly discovered that the cash was missing.

The student subsequently raised the matter of the missing funds with his roommates and suggested that all four roommates contribute equally to make up for the lost amount. While all three roommates initially agreed to help and share the financial loss, only two of them handed over their respective shares.

The 17-year-old student did not pay his portion of the money and stopped responding to the group. The disagreement escalated into a physical altercation on Thursday, during which the 17-year-old was injured and fell unconscious.

Following the clash, the college management shifted the injured teenager to a nearby private hospital for emergency medical treatment. He was admitted to the hospital's intensive care unit (ICU), where his condition is reported to be stable.

Personnel from the Medipally police station reached the college campus after receiving information about the clash. The police registered a case against the students involved in the incident and have initiated an investigation into the matter.
