YouTuber Shaik Mahaboob stabbed to death in Kumarwadi home in Golconda

A 30-year-old YouTuber and electrician, Shaik Mahaboob, was stabbed and beaten to death inside his home in Kumarwadi, in the Golconda area of Hyderabad, on Friday afternoon. The attack, which occurred around 3:20 PM, was allegedly carried out by his brother-in-law and his associates following a long-standing family dispute over a love marriage.
The victim, also known as Chandi Masood, had just returned to his house after Friday prayers when he noticed a group of people following him. Seeking safety, Mahaboob rushed inside his residence. However, the attackers forced their way into the home and launched a violent assault.
According to the police, the main suspect has been identified as Shaik Sohail, who is the brother of Mahaboob's wife. Sohail was reportedly accompanied by two associates, identified as Afu and Jabir. The group allegedly attacked Mahaboob with deadly weapons, including iron rods and gym equipment, inflicting severe head injuries and stabbing him multiple times.
Mahaboob sustained severe injuries and died on the spot before he could be shifted to a hospital. He leaves behind his wife and a child.
Investigating officers believe the murder is linked to ongoing family tensions. Mahaboob had entered into a love marriage with his wife approximately one and a half years ago, a union that faced strong opposition from some of her family members. Despite the couple having a child, the friction between Mahaboob and his in-laws persisted, which police suspect led to the killing.
The incident has created significant tension in the Kumarwadi locality, where local residents and family members are now demanding swift action against those responsible.
Additional DCP Krishna Goud stated that the police are currently verifying all facts and examining witness statements to establish the exact motive behind the murder. He confirmed that special teams have been formed to trace and arrest all those involved in the crime.
"We will make every effort to apprehend the accused as quickly as possible and ensure justice is served," Additional DCP Goud said.
A murder case has been registered by the police, and Mahaboob's body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. Further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation and forensic reports.
