Youth Congress Workers Protest at Telangana BJP Office in Nampally

Youth Congress activists held a protest outside the Telangana BJP headquarters in Nampally, Hyderabad, on Monday, throwing black colour at the building's rear gate and burning an effigy of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The demonstration was organised to condemn an alleged 'shuddhikaran ceremony' held at a venue in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, where All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge had recently addressed a public rally.

Led by Telangana Youth Congress president Jakkidi Shiva Charan Reddy, the protesters shouted slogans against the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Central government outside the state party office. According to a Congress release, the demonstrators also demanded the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the alleged use of pellet guns during a protest led by the CJP at Jantar Mantar in Delhi last month concerning the NEET question paper leak issue.

Reacting strongly to the demonstration, Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar questioned the role of local police and criticized their absence during the incident. In a statement, he asked whether state intelligence was functioning and questioned if the police were merely watching while the party office was being targeted in broad daylight.

Bandi Sanjay Kumar cautioned that the BJP's patience should not be mistaken for weakness, warning that Congress leaders would face difficulties moving freely if the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha decided to retaliate. He demanded a formal response from the Congress leadership regarding the protest.

The Union minister also contacted top police officials by telephone to question why personnel were not present at the site. He sought clarification from the department and urged police authorities to arrest those responsible for throwing colour at the gates and burning the effigy.
