Young India Sports University Signs MoU With Korea National Sport University

The Young India Physical Education & Sports University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Korea National Sport University (KNSU) to enhance high-performance sports training and sports science education in Telangana.

The agreement follows discussions held during an earlier official visit to South Korea with a senior KNSU delegation led by its president, Moon Won-Jae. The collaboration is designed to serve as a bridge connecting local sporting talent with international best practices in athlete development.

KNSU is widely regarded as a premier institution for elite athletics, with university-trained athletes securing 16 of South Korea's 32 medals at the recent Paris Olympics. The Telangana government aims to replicate this model of excellence to support athletes from grassroots levels in villages and towns through to international competition.

Telangana Sports Minister Vakiti Srihari, along with officials from the Sports Ministry and the Young India Sports University, spearheaded the partnership. The initiative forms part of the state's broader preparations to produce competitive athletes for the global stage as India looks ahead to the 2036 Olympic Games.
