Yashoda Hospitals Somajiguda Sets Guinness World Record With IBD Awareness Session

On July 17, 2026, Yashoda Hospitals in Somajiguda, Hyderabad, officially secured a Guinness World Records recognition by organizing the world's largest Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) awareness session. The landmark event saw a total of 578 participants joining the session simultaneously, with attendees participating both in person at the venue and online from various locations.

The main goal of this large-scale initiative was to significantly improve public awareness surrounding Inflammatory Bowel Disease. The organizers designed the session to promote the early recognition of IBD symptoms among the general public and to encourage individuals to seek timely medical consultations from healthcare professionals.

The record-breaking participant count was officially monitored and verified by Rishi Nath, the Official Adjudicator from Guinness World Records, who was present to confirm the achievement. The prestigious award was formally received by Dr. Kiran Peddi, Senior Gastroenterologist and Director of the Center for IBD, alongside Dr. S. Prashanth Reddy, who serves as the Unit Head of Yashoda Hospitals, Somajiguda.

Commenting on the global recognition, Dr. Pavan Gorukanti, Director of Yashoda Hospitals, expressed his gratitude to the entire hospital team. He stated that the remarkable achievement reflects the collective efforts of their doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, administrators, and every single member of the Yashoda family who worked to make the event a success.
