Yashoda Hospitals in HITEC City Surpasses 400 Kidney Transplants

Yashoda Hospitals at HITEC City has performed more than 400 kidney transplant surgeries since the launch of its transplant programme, hospital officials announced on Saturday, August 29.

The achievement was highlighted during the 'Kidney Symposium 2026', an event organized to discuss advances in kidney transplantation, long-term graft health, post-transplant care, and the necessity of increasing organ donation awareness across the region.

Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy inaugurated the symposium, while NITI Aayog Member R. Balasubrahmanyam attended as the guest of honour. The gathering brought together nephrologists, urologists, transplant specialists, and other medical professionals to share clinical experiences and evaluate recent developments in the field.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Reddy noted that technological advances, enhanced coordination among medical teams, and improved treatment approaches have significantly strengthened kidney transplant outcomes. He stressed the importance of boosting public awareness regarding organ donation and addressing misconceptions surrounding the procedure. He added that initiatives like the symposium play a key role in educating both healthcare workers and the public about disease prevention, timely medical intervention, and post-operative care.

Yashoda Hospitals Managing Director G. Surender Rao stated that the hospital achieved positive outcomes through advanced technology, specialized medical teams, and comprehensive patient care. He noted that the HITEC City facility has successfully managed complex clinical scenarios, including ABO-incompatible transplants, surgeries involving elderly recipients, and procedures using kidneys from elderly living donors.
