Yashoda Hospitals HITEC City Hosts Kidney Symposium 2026

Yashoda Hospitals in HITEC City organized 'Kidney Symposium 2026', bringing together nephrologists, urologists, transplant specialists, and medical professionals to examine advances in kidney transplantation, post-transplant care, and long-term graft health.

The symposium served as a platform to discuss modern treatment approaches, the clinical importance of long-term follow-up care, and the necessity of creating broader public awareness regarding organ donation.

Several prominent figures attended the event, including Union Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy, NITI Aayog Member Dr. R. Balasubrahmanyam, Yashoda Hospitals Chairman G. Ravinder Rao, and Managing Director Dr. G. Surender Rao.

During the event, Dr. G. Surender Rao highlighted the facility's clinical milestones, stating that Yashoda Hospitals, HITEC City, has successfully performed more than 400 kidney transplant surgeries since the initiation of its kidney transplant programme.

Addressing the medical requirements of transplantation, Dr. Rajasekhara Chakravarthy, Clinical Director of the Department of Nephrology at Yashoda Hospitals, HITEC City, emphasized the extensive care required beyond the operating room. He noted that kidney transplantation is not a process that ends with surgery alone, pointing out that proper selection of donors and recipients, comprehensive medical evaluations prior to transplantation, coordination among various medical specialties, post-operative monitoring, and long-term follow-up all play crucial roles in achieving better patient outcomes.
