Woman Dies by Suicide at KPHB Colony Residential Complex

A 32-year-old woman died by suicide after jumping from the fifth floor of a residential building in Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) Colony on Monday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Sheetal Purushotham, a native of Kannur in Kerala. She lived with her family at Panchavati Apartments, located on the 6th Phase Road in KPHB Colony.

The incident took place on August 24 at approximately 4:30 pm. She jumped from the fifth floor of the apartment building where she resided and died on the spot.

According to CCTV footage retrieved from the main gate of the residential complex, two children were playing near the entrance when they heard a loud thud. Startled by the sound, one of the children turned around and saw the woman lying on the floor.

An initial investigation into the incident revealed that Purushotham had been suffering from depression for some time and was undergoing medical treatment.

The exact circumstances that led to her death are yet to be ascertained. Police officials stated that a further investigation into the case is currently underway.
