Woman detained for allegedly killing husband in Baswaipalle village

A 38-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife on Sunday night at their residence in Baswaipalle village, located in the Devarakadra mandal of Mahabubnagar district, Telangana. The victim, identified as Nagesh, died of his injuries while undergoing treatment at Osmania Hospital, and police have detained his wife, Kavitha, under suspicion of an extramarital affair being the motive behind the murder.

According to police and local reports, Nagesh had married Kavitha, who originally hailed from Malkapur village, approximately 15 years ago. Over the course of their marriage, the couple had settled in Baswaipalle village and had three sons together.

The violent incident took place on Sunday night while Nagesh was asleep at the family home. Police officials state that Kavitha allegedly attacked her sleeping husband with a knife, inflicting severe injuries.

The couple's youngest son, Ramu, who was also sleeping inside the house at the time, woke up during the attack. Ramu witnessed the physical assault on his father and immediately ran out of the house screaming to alert their neighbors in the village.

Upon hearing the child's cries, local residents and neighbors rushed inside the house. They discovered Nagesh lying in a pool of blood on the floor. The neighbors quickly gathered to assist and shifted the severely injured Nagesh to the district hospital.

Medical staff at the district hospital assessed Nagesh's condition as critical. Due to the severity of his stab wounds, doctors referred him to Osmania Hospital for emergency medical care. Despite receiving medical attention, Nagesh succumbed to his injuries and died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Following the incident, the Mahabubnagar police detained Kavitha. She is currently in police custody where officers are questioning her about the attack. Preliminary findings from the police investigation suggest that a suspected extramarital affair may have been the primary motive behind the killing. A comprehensive investigation into the incident is ongoing.
