Warangal MP Kadiyam Kavya Demands Separate Kazipet Railway Division from SCR

Warangal MP Dr. Kadiyam Kavya on Thursday submitted a formal representation to the South Central Railway (SCR) general manager at the railway headquarters in Secunderabad, demanding the establishment of a separate railway division headquartered at Kazipet.
In her representation, the MP underlined the strategic significance of Kazipet as a major railway hub and argued that setting up an independent division would deliver substantial administrative and logistical benefits. She stated that despite serving as a crucial junction in the network, Kazipet has not witnessed developmental progress commensurate with its overall importance.
Kadiyam Kavya highlighted that the demand for a separate Kazipet division has been a long-standing aspiration among railway employees, passengers, and freight operators across the erstwhile Warangal region. She urged the railway authorities to actively examine the proposal in light of the proposed reorganisation of railway zones and divisions across the country.
To substantiate the demand, the MP noted that critical freight routes run through the area, including the Ballarshah-Kazipet, Kazipet-Vijayawada, Kazipet-Karimnagar, and Dornakal-Manuguru corridors. The region functions as a major transit hub for the movement of essential goods and commodities, such as coal, cement, rice, chilli, granite, and fertilisers.
According to the MP, carving out a separate division at Kazipet would significantly ease the mounting operational traffic and administrative burden currently handled by the Secunderabad division. At the same time, the move would help accelerate infrastructure growth, upgrade passenger amenities, and enhance freight transportation capacity throughout the Kazipet region.
