VST Workers Union Demands Better Wages and Raises Tax Concerns With Management

The VST Workers Union met with the management of VST Industries Limited in Hyderabad on Thursday to raise concerns over taxation affecting the company's competitiveness and to demand fair wages and improved working conditions for employees.

The meeting, which was led by union president and Intuc chief Dr G. Sanjeeva Reddy, focused on the company's business prospects, challenges, and strategies for sustainable growth.

During the discussion with VST Industries Limited Managing Director Piyush Shrivastav, the union highlighted taxation as a key obstacle impacting the company's competitiveness and future expansion. Dr Reddy stressed that a favorable business environment was essential for the long-term stability of the industry, the continuity of operations, and the protection of jobs.

The discussion also centered on workers' welfare, with the union calling for fair wages and improved working conditions. Dr Reddy said employees should be able to lead a dignified life through living wages and humane workplace practices.

The meeting was attended by union advisers R.D. Chandrashekar and B.J.P. Raju, general secretary L.D. Paul, Srinivas Yadav, Nagesh, and other office-bearers. Representing the management alongside Managing Director Piyush Shrivastav were Sreeram and Shivkumar.

Both sides agreed that continued dialogue and mutual understanding were essential to addressing business challenges while safeguarding the interests of workers.
