Vijayawada Man Arrested with MDMA and Ganja in Madhapur Raid

The Cyberabad police on Sunday, June 14, 2026, arrested a 22-year-old resident of Vijayawada during a raid at an apartment in Chandra Naik Thanda, Madhapur, for the possession and sale of MDMA and cannabis.

The arrested man, identified as Dhanekula Tharun Teja, was caught during a joint operation conducted by the Cyberabad Special Operations Team and the Madhapur police. Officers recovered a variety of contraband and distribution equipment from the scene.

According to the police, the raid resulted in the seizure of 15 grams of MDMA and 38 grams of OG Kush ganja. In addition to the narcotics, law enforcement officers confiscated nine mobile phones and two weighing machines from the suspect's possession at the flat.

Police investigations revealed that Tharun was actively selling the drugs to local customers. The suspect allegedly sourced the ganja from two other individuals, identified as Karthik and Pruthvi, who are also residents of Vijayawada. Both Karthik and Pruthvi remain at large, and the police are currently searching for the absconding suppliers.

During the raid at the Madhapur apartment, the police also found eight other individuals who had traveled to the city. The officers caught these eight persons while they were actively consuming ganja inside the flat. The police confirmed that legal action is being initiated against all eight of them for drug consumption.
