Velvet Space Launches Invite-Only Women's Drive to Golkonda Resorts

Velvet Space, an invite-only social club founded by 29-year-old Sri Varsha Kasam, is launching its inaugural curated experience this Sunday with an exclusive women-only sunrise drive to Golkonda Resorts in Hyderabad. The event aims to address a gap in the city's social scene by helping strangers build genuine, meaningful connections through carefully designed, small-group interactions.
The inaugural gathering will bring together 12 women who will arrive as complete strangers. The experience is designed to begin with a sunrise drive before participants make their way to Golkonda Resorts for the 'Golden Trail', a treasure hunt-style activity that will lead them to a shared breakfast table spread. Participation in this Sunday edition is priced at around ₹2,300.
According to founder Sri Varsha Kasam, the concept for the first event was inspired by the perception that road trips and long drives are often associated with men, despite more women now actively embracing driving and travel experiences. Rather than random grouping, attendees are curated through an application process to bring together different personalities and perspectives that encourage natural interaction.
"I started Velvet Space because I saw a gap where real connections are missing with the right people," Kasam said. "There are many clubs in the city for anyone to join, but this is an invite-only club that brings the right people together."
To help participants feel comfortable, the club incorporates built-in ice-breaker rounds to naturally start conversations. Kasam explained that the invite-only format is intended to preserve a sense of mystery and excitement while ensuring each gathering feels distinct from a regular social event.
While the first gathering is exclusively for women, future experiences organized by Velvet Space may include mixed groups or couples depending on the concept. However, group sizes will remain intentionally small, with attendance capped below 30 participants to maintain an intimate atmosphere.
