VC Sajjanar Honours 72 Police Personnel at CAR Headquarters on Independence Day

Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar presented certificates of appreciation to 72 police officers and personnel during an Independence Day parade at the City Armed Reserve (CAR) headquarters on Saturday. The awards recognised their dedication, meritorious service, and operational excellence.

Sajjanar hoisted the National Flag and paid tribute to freedom fighters and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country's independence. Addressing the gathering, he commended the police force for maintaining round-the-clock vigilance and ensuring peaceful, incident-free celebrations during major events, including New Year, Sri Rama Navami, Hanuman Jayanti processions, and the recent Ashada Bonalu festival.

Highlighting recent policing initiatives, Sajjanar spoke on the department's efforts against adulterated food through H-FAST and cybercrime via Operation Octopus and C-Mitra, which serves as India's first virtual police officer initiative. He stated that over 1,700 Zero FIRs have been registered to expedite criminal investigations, while the newly introduced AI Copywriter application is significantly accelerating the complaint registration process.

Addressing women's safety measures, the commissioner highlighted the Spandana Instant Protection responder system, an initiative launched by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. The system is currently handling an average of 30 complaints every day. To boost operational agility across the city, specialised driving training will soon be provided to 300 female police personnel.

On the anti-narcotics front, Sajjanar noted that the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) has been further fortified to tackle the drug problem in the city. He warned that strict action would be enforced against offenders regardless of their stature.
