US Envoy Sergio Gor Visits Tata-Lockheed Martin Aerospace Facility in Hyderabad

US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor visited the Tata Lockheed Martin Aerostructures Limited (TLMAL) facility in Hyderabad, where he toured the production line responsible for manufacturing empennages for the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft.
The visit underscored the expanding partnership between Tata and Lockheed Martin, while highlighting India's growing footprint in global aerospace and defence manufacturing.
The collaboration between Tata Advanced Systems and Lockheed Martin has entered a new phase as the joint venture works to address the recently released Medium Transport Aircraft (MTA) requirement. The Hyderabad facility serves as a key pillar in the production and scaling capabilities needed to meet the requirements of the MTA competition, reinforcing the role of Indian industry in supporting the airlifter programme.
Speaking on the occasion, US Ambassador Sergio Gor highlighted the broader bilateral ties reflected in such industrial collaborations. He noted that the decades-long economic partnership between the United States and India continues to grow stronger through innovation, shared security interests, and economic cooperation.
Sukaran Singh, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Tata Advanced Systems Limited, stated that the partnership with Lockheed Martin has established a proven track record of supplying world-class aerostructures for major programmes, including the C-130J Super Hercules. He added that the joint venture is now extending its scope into Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services, which are set to become operational soon.
