Dr. Pratap Kollu, an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Advanced Studies in Electronics Science and Technology (CASEST) within the School of Physics at the University of Hyderabad, has been awarded the prestigious Visiting Fellowship by the Royal Society, UK.

Following the award, Dr. Kollu recently completed a highly successful 10-day international academic exchange visit to the University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom. He was accompanied on this research trip by his PhD research scholar, Prajakta Dange, to collaborate on advanced scientific research.

During the course of this 10-day international exchange program, Dr. Kollu also served in the capacity of an Honorary Faculty Member at the University of Glasgow. The collaborative visit represents a significant milestone in global scientific research for the University of Hyderabad, helping to foster deeper international academic connections.

While stationed at the University of Glasgow, the research team from the University of Hyderabad engaged in close collaboration with Prof. Duncan H. Gregory, the Chair in Inorganic Materials at the School of Chemistry, University of Glasgow. The academic partnership allowed the researchers to combine their expertise and plan future experimental paths.

The advanced research deliberations and experimental strategies formulated by the joint team focused on several critical, future-ready scientific domains. Among the primary areas of focus for Dr. Kollu, Ms. Dange, and Prof. Gregory were advanced functional materials, smart instrumentation systems, and next-generation energy storage systems.

This prestigious international fellowship program is supported by the Yusuf and Farida Hamied Foundation. The foundation was established by Dr. Yusuf Hamied, a prominent scientist, leader, and philanthropist who is well-known as the Chairman of Cipla. The support from the foundation aims to facilitate high-level academic exchanges between leading researchers in India and the United Kingdom.

The successful completion of the 10-day exchange has been celebrated as a major step forward in advancing research within these critical scientific fields, further establishing the University of Hyderabad's presence on the global stage.
