University of Hyderabad opens MCA admissions for 2026-27 academic year
The University of Hyderabad has officially commenced the application process for admission to its Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme for the 2026-27 academic year. The application window, which opened on July 2, is set to run until July 22, allowing qualified candidates to compete for 40 allocated seats at the university's campus in Hyderabad.
Admissions to the 40 allocated seats will be conducted in accordance with the university's prescribed reservation policy. Prospective students who appeared for the National Institute of Technology Master of Computer Applications Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) 2026 are eligible to apply through the university's official admissions portal.
To qualify for admission, candidates must meet specific academic criteria. Applicants must hold a first-class bachelor's degree with at least 60% aggregate marks in any discipline. Additionally, applicants must have secured a qualified rank in NIMCET 2026, as the university will prepare the final merit list solely on the basis of these test scores.
Following the close of applications on July 22, the university will publish the merit list on July 28. Shortlisted candidates will then need to participate in the physical reporting process for counselling and document verification, which is scheduled to take place on August 12.
The online application fee varies by category. General category candidates are required to pay Rs 600, while candidates from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) must pay Rs 550. The fee is Rs 400 for Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates, and Rs 275 for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates.
