University of Hyderabad Launches Online Certificate Courses and New Recording Studio

The University of Hyderabad (UoH) launched two new online certificate courses and inaugurated an additional video recording studio on 15 July 2026. The new digital initiatives, introduced through the university's Centre for Digital Learning, Training & Resources (CDLTR), are designed to strengthen the institution's digital learning capabilities and lay the groundwork for future online degree offerings.

The two newly launched online certificate courses are "Samsadhani Praveshikka: Learning Sanskrit Using Computational Tools" and "Advanced Malariology: Biology of Parasitism and Drug Resistance". These specialized programs represent the university's latest efforts to expand its academic reach through digital platforms.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch, CDLTR Director Prof Salman Abdul Moiz stated that the introduction of these two courses marks the beginning of a broader initiative to offer expert-led online education. Prof Moiz announced that the university will soon be launching complete online programmes at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels to expand access to higher education.

To support the creation of high-quality digital content for these upcoming programmes, UoH Vice Chancellor in-charge Prof Anuradha inaugurated an additional video recording studio at the CDLTR facility. Prof Anuradha emphasized the university's commitment to this digital transition, stating that the institution will soon conduct faculty development programmes to enable all its faculty members to successfully design and launch their own online courses.

Additionally, UoH Professor Vasuki Belavadi briefed the university community about SwayamPrabha, which is a bouquet of 40 DTH educational channels launched by the Ministry of Education. Prof Belavadi urged the faculty members to launch their academic courses on this national platform. It was also noted that the SwayamPrabha courses are available on YouTube for free, making the educational resources accessible to a wider public audience.
