Union Minister Kishan Reddy Inspects Railway Station Works in Mahbubnagar

Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy inspected ongoing railway station redevelopment works at Sri Bala Brahmeswara Jogulamba halt, Gadwal, Mahbubnagar, and Jadcherla on Monday. During the visit, he reviewed newly built amenities, including updated station buildings, platforms, foot overbridges, parking facilities, circulating areas, lifts, and lighting systems.

Speaking to the media during the inspection, Reddy announced that 40 railway stations across Telangana are currently undergoing redevelopment as part of the Amrit Station scheme, with a total allocation exceeding ₹2,000 crore. The four stations inspected on Monday are being upgraded at a combined investment of ₹125.38 crore. He noted that works at the Jogulamba Halt are nearly finished, while projects at Mahbubnagar, Gadwal, and Jadcherla are progressing rapidly.

The upgraded stations will include modern waiting halls, renovated booking counters, improved platform infrastructure, escalators, lifts, enhanced lighting, updated building façades, and expanded parking spaces.

Reddy highlighted that railway infrastructure across Telangana is expanding rapidly under central government initiatives, with ongoing projects valued at nearly ₹50,000 crore. These works include new railway lines as well as track doubling, tripling, and quadrupling projects. He added that 100 new passenger and express trains have been introduced in the state over the past decade.

Additionally, three high-speed elevated rail corridors announced in the Union Budget—Hyderabad–Chennai via Vijayawada, Hyderabad–Bengaluru, and Hyderabad–Pune via Mumbai—will connect Telangana, easing congestion and enhancing regional transport.

Mahbubnagar MP D.K. Aruna, MLAs Vijayudu and Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy, along with other public representatives, accompanied the minister during the inspection.
