U.S. Envoys, Minister Sridhar Babu Meet at Taj Falaknuma Palace on Trade

U.S. Ambassador to India Sergio Gor and U.S. Consul General Laura Williams convened top Indian industry leaders alongside Telangana Minister D. Sridhar Babu at the Taj Falaknuma Palace to accelerate bilateral trade, secure high-tech supply chains, and expand U.S.-India commercial ties.

The high-level dinner, which commemorated the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence, brought together C-suite executives across sectors including defense manufacturing, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, and technology. The gathering aimed to convert strategic bilateral policy into real-world business investments across South India.

Highlighting the momentum in the bilateral economic relationship, Ambassador Gor stated that the U.S.-India partnership has expanded beyond strategic alignment into a concrete architecture of cooperation across defense, technology, life sciences, and space.

According to a statement quoting Mr. Gor, that architecture is built on longstanding business-to-business partnerships. He noted that every commercial deal contributes toward "Mission 500," the shared target of reaching $500 billion in bilateral trade by 2030.

U.S. Consul General Laura Williams emphasised South India’s critical role in the broader bilateral relationship. She pointed to transformative partnerships taking root across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha in key areas including advanced technology, data, and critical minerals.

During the meeting, Mr. Gor encouraged business leaders across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha to leverage strategic policy frameworks as direct mechanisms for investment, supply-chain collaboration, and market access. He specifically highlighted frameworks such as the TRUST Initiative, Pax Silica, the U.S.-India COMPACT, and the U.S.-India Strategic Mineral Recovery Initiative.
