Two Students Detained Over Murder of School Principal Rupa Reddy in Nalgonda

The Nalgonda police have unraveled the mystery surrounding the murder of 48-year-old school principal Kallu Roopa Reddy following the detention of two school students. Investigators were able to track down the suspects after examining surveillance camera footage recorded near the victim's residence.
Roopa Reddy, who served as the principal of Nagarjuna Public School in Kondamallepally, was found murdered with 27 stab wounds at her residence in JB Colony in the mandal headquarters. The incident took place while her husband, Rajender Reddy, was away in Hyderabad attending to work.
In the aftermath of the killing, police initiated a thorough probe and questioned more than 50 individuals, including the victim's husband, in an effort to identify the culprits. However, initial questioning did not lead investigators to a definitive conclusion.
The breakthrough came when officers conducted a close examination of CCTV footage gathered from a surveillance camera installed in the vicinity of her house. The footage captured a teenager loitering near the residence, providing police with a crucial lead.
Acting on the visual evidence, police apprehended the teenager and grilled him regarding his movements. During questioning, the suspect admitted to committing the crime, stating that the act was carried out for money.
Investigators noted that the suspect also bore a personal grudge against the principal. Roopa Reddy had previously terminated the student from the school by issuing a transfer certificate. Following the confession, police detained two students in connection with the case.
