Two Men Killed as Motorcycle Crashes Into Metro Pillar in Kukatpally

Two young men were killed in the early hours of Friday, July 17, 2026, after losing control of their motorcycle and crashing into a Metro Rail pillar near the Bhagyanagar bus stop in Kukatpally. The fatal accident occurred shortly after midnight on the route leading from JNTU towards Kukatpally, resulting in the immediate death of one rider and the subsequent death of the other.

The local police identified the two deceased individuals as Akhilesh Yadav, aged 24, and Mohammed Younus, aged 26. Akhilesh Yadav, who was riding the motorcycle, was a native of the Jagtial district. At the time of the incident, he was residing in a local hostel and was employed as an electrician at a hospital in the nearby KPHB Colony.

According to the police, the two men were travelling together on the motorcycle shortly after midnight. As they were heading from the direction of JNTU towards Kukatpally, the motorcycle suddenly lost control near the Bhagyanagar bus stop. The vehicle rammed directly into Metro pillar number 746, which is located along the Metro Rail route.

The force of the collision threw both Akhilesh Yadav and Mohammed Younus off the motorcycle. Both riders suffered severe injuries as a result of being thrown from the vehicle. Akhilesh Yadav died on the spot due to the severity of his injuries.

Mohammed Younus, who was riding pillion on the motorcycle, was severely injured but still alive immediately after the crash. Emergency services were alerted, and he was shifted to a nearby hospital in an ambulance. However, upon reaching the medical facility, the attending doctors declared him dead on arrival.

In the aftermath of the accident, the local police registered a case regarding the incident. Police officials have initiated an investigation to determine the precise circumstances and cause of the accident, specifically focusing on how the motorcycle lost control before crashing into the Metro Rail pillar.
