Two Men Drown in Vialal Lake in Sangareddy After Attending Relative's Funeral

Two members of a family drowned in Vialal lake in Jinnaram Mandal of Sangareddy district on Wednesday while taking a bath after attending a relative's funeral.

According to the police, the deceased have been identified as M. Ganesh and his uncle, G. Muniraju. Both were residents of Jinnaram in Sangareddy district.

Police said that Ganesh did not know how to swim. While bathing in the water body, he lost his footing and panicked, sliding into a section of the lake that is approximately 12 feet deep. Muniraju noticed his nephew struggling in the deep water and immediately attempted to rescue him, but he also drowned in the process.

Family members of the victims who were present nearby quickly arranged for lifesavers to launch a rescue effort. However, the search continued for hours, and the lifesavers managed to retrieve both bodies only late on Wednesday night.

Following the retrieval of the bodies, the police registered a case of death under suspicious circumstances. The remains of the two victims were subsequently shifted to a government hospital for further procedures.
