Two Held in Old Bowenpally for Selling Cigarettes to Minors

EAGLE Force personnel, in coordination with the Bowenpally police, apprehended a pan shop owner and his worker for allegedly selling cigarettes to minors at Old Bowenpally in Secunderabad on Sunday.
According to police officials, the enforcement team acted on a tip-off regarding the illegal sale of tobacco products to underage buyers. EAGLE Force personnel conducted 22 visits to monitor the locality before catching two minors, aged 14 and 17, purchasing cigarettes from the shop on August 30. The entire incident was recorded on video as evidence.
Following the verification, the EAGLE Force team joined officers from the Bowenpally police station under the Malkajgiri Commissionerate to conduct a raid on the commercial establishment, identified as Limra Pan Mahal.
The shop owner, identified as 65-year-old Md. Yusuf Uddin Goury, and 19-year-old Md. Rehan Ali, were apprehended on the premises.
During the search, the police team seized cigarettes and various tobacco products across roughly 10 different brands, including Marlboro, American, Classic, Edition Gold Flake, and Chams Flake. The seized contraband was valued at approximately Rs 60,000.
Both the apprehended persons and the confiscated tobacco stock were handed over to the Bowenpally police for further legal action.
