Two Booked in Ibrahimpatnam for Cheating Man Looking for Missing Son

Two Booked in Ibrahimpatnam for Cheating Man Looking for Missing Son

A 75-year-old father searching for his missing son for 24 years was defrauded of money after fraudsters introduced him to an impostor dressed as a sadhu. Following a complaint lodged by the victim, Pishati Laxma Reddy, the Ibrahimpatnam police registered a criminal case against two accused persons, Mohan Reddy and Yadaiah.

Laxma Reddy is a resident of Seetharampet village in Ibrahimpatnam mandal of Rangareddy district. For 24 years, the elderly father lived with the hope of finding his son, who had walked out of his home following a family quarrel and disputes with his father and never returned. According to the complaint, Laxma Reddy has five daughters and one son, Srinivas Reddy.

Despite continuous efforts and years of searching over more than two decades, Laxma Reddy had been unable to trace his missing son. That long-held hope appeared to come alive when the father was informed that his son had finally been found staying at a temple.

The search took a turn on September 16, when Laxma Reddy came into contact with Mohan Reddy through a relative named Kondal Reddy. Mohan reportedly won Laxma Reddy's confidence by claiming that Srinivas had been traced and was currently staying at the Cheruvu Gattu temple.

Acting on the information, Laxma Reddy visited the Cheruvu Gattu temple on September 20. There, Mohan allegedly introduced him to a man dressed in the attire of a sadhu and told the father that the man was his long-lost son, Srinivas.

What began as an emotional reunion turned into heartbreak and an alleged cheating racket. Believing that he had finally been reunited with his son after a 24-year search, the elderly father paid money to the accused.

However, Laxma Reddy later discovered that the man presented to him at the temple was an impostor. The elderly victim was financially cheated and emotionally devastated after realizing that he had fallen victim to the alleged cheating scheme.

Following the revelation, Laxma Reddy approached law enforcement officials to report the fraud. The Ibrahimpatnam police then registered a formal criminal case against both Mohan Reddy and Yadaiah based on the elderly father's complaint.
