Two Arrested in Quthbullapur With Over 11 Kg Ganja

The Jeedimetla police arrested two persons at Quthbullapur and seized 11.365 kg of ganja on Saturday. The contraband was allegedly transported to Hyderabad for local distribution.
Acting on a tip-off, police carried out a raid at HMT Colony in Quthbullapur and apprehended the suspects, identified as 33-year-old Maredubudi Raju and 41-year-old Sirapu Hema. During a search, officers recovered the contraband packed into five bundles, along with two mobile phones and bags used for transport.
According to the police, Raju allegedly procured the ganja from a supplier identified as Bumpara Ramana near Madugula in Visakhapatnam district. He brought the shipment to Hyderabad intending to hand it over to Hema for sale in the city.
Police said that efforts are currently underway to trace and apprehend Ramana, who remains absconding.
