TTGDA Raises Faculty Promotions and Pay Scales with DME Dr N Vani in Hyderabad

The Telangana Teaching Govt Doctors Association (TTGDA) met with the Director of Medical Education (DME), Dr N Vani, in Hyderabad to submit a representation detailing several urgent grievances faced by medical teaching faculty across Telangana. During the interaction, the doctors' association brought up key operational and financial issues affecting government teaching medical personnel, including pending faculty promotions, Rule 14A, delayed Aarogyasri incentives, allowances, pay scale revisions, and the lack of a dedicated transfer policy.

Responding to the administrative concerns raised by the delegation, Dr N Vani assured the TTGDA representatives that the process for pending promotions would be finalized at the earliest possible date. The Director of Medical Education further stated that systematic efforts would be made to officially notify and open as many vacant positions as possible during the upcoming counselling process to support eligible doctors.

On the matter of pending financial incentives under the Aarogyasri healthcare scheme, Dr Vani informed the association that she had already personally discussed the situation with the Health Minister to reach a resolution. Addressing another key demand regarding financial compensation, the DME agreed to discuss the implementation of the Peripheral Medical College Allowance (PMCA) directly with the Chief Minister.

The discussions also touched upon long-standing salary structure demands. Regarding the adoption of AIIMS pay scales for teaching faculty, Dr Vani clarified that the formal proposal required somewhat more time to process. However, regarding the designated professor posts, she revealed that the relevant official file was currently under active review with the government and was anticipated to receive official clearance in the near future.

Members of the TTGDA noted that the DME specifically identified the super-speciality allowance alongside the in-service quota as high-priority issues that need prompt attention. Dr Vani also gave a positive response to the association's demands for framing a separate transfer policy specifically tailored for medical teaching faculty. Additionally, she reacted favorably to the request for introducing an optional Non-Practising Allowance (NPA) aimed at doctors recruited from the year 2023 onwards.

Finally, the meeting addressed structural expansion and administrative representation across major state institutions. Touching upon the proposed creation of additional DME posts at Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad and Kakatiya Medical College (KMC) in Warangal, Dr Vani confirmed that the proposal had already been formally taken up with the state government for approval.
