TSSP Head Constable Booked in Yousufguda for Assaulting Wife

A Telangana State Special Police (TSSP) head constable has been booked by the Jubilee Hills police for allegedly assaulting, harassing, and threatening his wife at their quarters in the First Battalion premises at Yousufguda.
The accused has been identified as Jalandhar Goud. According to the complaint lodged by his wife, Himayati, the incident occurred two days prior to Wednesday after Jalandhar returned home in an intoxicated state. When she asked him to stop consuming alcohol, he punched her on her nose, causing bleeding injuries.
Himayati further told the police that Jalandhar was abusing their children late at night. When she intervened and attempted to stop him from abusing them, he allegedly threatened her with dire consequences.
The couple married in 2020. In her complaint, Himayati stated that Jalandhar had been subjecting her and their children to continuous harassment over the years. She had previously approached the police in 2023 regarding three similar incidents of abuse. However, she later chose to withdraw those complaints, citing concerns over her husband's job and the welfare of their children.
Following the latest assault, the Jubilee Hills police registered a criminal case against Jalandhar Goud on charges of causing hurt, harassment, and criminal intimidation. A police officer confirmed on Wednesday that the matter is currently under investigation.
