TSSP Constable Assaulted Outside Warangal Bar; Case Booked for Obstructing Duty

A Telangana State Special Police (TSSP) constable was assaulted by a civil police constable and two civilians outside a bar at Urs Gutta, under the limits of the Mills Colony police station in Warangal, following a late-night altercation on August 19.
The incident involved Manoj, a constable attached to the TSSP 4th Battalion at Mamnoor Lines in Warangal. According to sources, Manoj was under the influence of alcohol and allegedly created a nuisance while paying the bill at Kalinga bar and restaurant.
Following a call from the bar and restaurant staff, beat constable Santhosh Reddy arrived at the location. Santhosh Reddy instructed Manoj to put on his shirt, as he was moving around half-naked. When Manoj did not oblige despite repeated requests, the beat constable slapped him on the face, prompting Manoj to hit back.
Santhosh Reddy then began beating Manoj with his lathi. Two other individuals joined the assault, with one striking Manoj with a stick and the other punching him. The assault continued for several minutes as Manoj attempted to leave the scene, while one of his colleagues tried unsuccessfully to intervene and stop the trio.
A video recording of the altercation surfaced and circulated on social media on Saturday. Following the circulation of the footage, higher police officials took note of the situation.
Mills Colony police subsequently registered a case against Manoj on charges of creating a nuisance and obstructing an on-duty police constable from discharging his duties. A notice has also been issued to Manoj in connection with the incident.
