TRSMA Demands Fast-Track Trial in Principal Rupa Reddy Murder Case

The Telangana Recognised School Managements Association (TRSMA) in Hyderabad has demanded a time-bound investigation and speedy prosecution in the murder of private school principal Rupa Reddy, urging the state government to try the case in a Fast Track Court.

The association stated that the incident has triggered widespread insecurity among teachers, principals, and school managements across Telangana. In response to growing concerns over educator safety, TRSMA appealed to the government to enact a comprehensive Teachers and Schools Protection Act.

According to TRSMA, teachers—especially women teachers—are increasingly confronting threats, humiliation, abuse, and intimidation from some parents, students, and community representatives. The organisation also raised alarms over repeated instances of unauthorised entry into school premises and the deliberate disruption of academic activities.

TRSMA president S Madhusudhan said the proposed legislation must provide strict safeguards against physical assaults, threats, unlawful entry, vandalism, and damage to school property. He also called for the creation of a state-wide school safety and teacher protection mechanism involving the Education Department, the Police Department, and local district administrations.

Madhusudhan stressed that parents and schools must jointly shoulder the responsibility for children's discipline and conduct. The association further recommended the introduction of counselling, emotional well-being, life-skills, and behavioural support programmes for students across institutions.

TRSMA announced that it plans to pursue the issue directly with the Chief Minister, senior education officials, the Director General of Police, district collectors, and district educational officers, urging the state administration to treat teacher and school safety as an immediate priority.
