TRSMA Demands Fast-Track Trial in Principal Rupa Reddy Murder Case

The Telangana Recognised School Managements Association (TRSMA) on Saturday demanded that the State government conduct a time-bound investigation and ensure speedy prosecution in the brutal killing of private school principal Rupa Reddy in Nalgonda district. The association urged authorities to try the case through an appropriate fast-track court.

In a statement, TRSMA president S Madhusudhan highlighted growing safety concerns across educational institutions, stating that teachers and schools are increasingly facing ill-treatment, abusive behaviour, humiliation, threats, and intimidation from agitated parents, certain students, and representatives of community organisations.

Madhusudhan urged the government to enact a comprehensive ‘Teachers and Schools Protection Act’ to establish effective safeguards for teachers, principals, correspondents, and educational institutions.

The association stated that the proposed legislation should establish an effective legal framework to penalise assaults, threats, intimidation, unlawful entry into school premises, vandalism, damage to school property, and the disruption of legitimate academic activities.

Additionally, TRSMA called for the creation of a coordinated school safety and teacher protection mechanism involving the education department, police department, and district administration to guarantee immediate responses to serious incidents.
