TRS Leader Gouravarapu Jagadeeswar Booked Under POCSO Act in Wyra

The Wyra police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act against Telangana Rakshana Sena leader Gouravarapu Jagadeeswar, alias David Raj, on Saturday night for allegedly attempting to sexually assault an 11-year-old girl in Wyra.

According to the police, Jagadeeswar, who serves as the Telangana Rakshana Sena’s constituency in charge for Wyra, allegedly entered the girl's house on the pretext of teaching her mathematics. The Class VI student was reportedly alone at home at the time because her parents were away.

Police stated that the accused allegedly attempted to sexually assault the girl while inside the house. The student later informed her parents about the incident, after which her mother approached the police and lodged an official complaint.

Based on the mother's complaint, the Wyra police registered a case against Jagadeeswar under relevant provisions of the Pocso Act on Saturday night. Police subsequently took the accused into custody and produced him before a court in Madhira.

The court in Madhira remanded Jagadeeswar, and Wyra police confirmed that an investigation into the case is currently underway.
