TRS Chief Kavitha Alleges BRS Corruption, Announces Local Body Poll Plans

Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha launched a sharp attack against the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government and the ruling Congress party while addressing the Panchajanya Sankalpa Sabha public meeting in Nizamabad on Monday. During the gathering, she announced that the TRS would contest all seats in the upcoming MPTC and ZPTC elections across the state.

Kavitha alleged that the previous BRS administration engaged in large-scale corruption and looted public funds during its tenure under the banner of "Bangaru Telangana." She said the people of the state require a "Bahujana Telangana," asserting that she launched her political party not to seek power, but to bring qualitative change to the lives of the public.

The TRS chief claimed that the BRS has failed in its role as the principal opposition party and alleged that it had colluded with the ruling Congress. She questioned why BRS leaders were not raising concerns regarding corruption within the current Congress government, while vowing that the TRS will continue to fight against the ruling administration.

Speaking about her political background, Kavitha stated that she worked for the BRS for 20 years before being ruthlessly expelled from the organisation. She said she had been jailed in the liquor case without doing anything wrong because people at the Centre bore a grudge against the BRS, adding that the party did not wholeheartedly support her during that period.

Kavitha also criticised former minister Vemula Prashant Reddy, asserting that she would never forgive him for separating her from her father, K. Chandrasekhar Rao. While she stated she might forgive Harish Rao or Joginapally Santosh Rao, she stated she would not forgive Prashant Reddy. She concluded by stating that the TRS is moving forward with five key priorities aimed at improving conditions for the people of Telangana.
