Trader Found Dead Near Muraharipally Lake in Medchal Carrying Rs 10 Lakh

A 55-year-old trader, Nemaram Choudary, was found dead on the bund of Muraharipally Lake in Medchal on Monday, triggering protests by members of the Marwari community demanding a thorough murder investigation.

Choudary, a resident of Gundlapochampally, had left his home last week carrying approximately Rs 10 lakh in cash. When he failed to return, his concerned family members lodged a missing person complaint at the Pet Basheerabad police station on October 3.

Police personnel later recovered Choudary's body from the lake bund and registered a case of suspicious death. Following the discovery, Medchal Assistant Commissioner of Police Shankar Reddy and Inspector Anji Reddy visited the location to inspect the scene and initiate preliminary inquiries.

Because of jurisdictional considerations, officials subsequently transferred the case to the Pet Basheerabad police station for further proceedings.

Following the discovery of the body, leaders and members of the Marwari community staged a demonstration outside the Pet Basheerabad police station. The protesters alleged that Choudary had been murdered for the money and his body dumped near the lake, demanding that the perpetrators be identified and arrested immediately.

Investigators are currently examining all angles, including whether Choudary died by suicide or was murdered. Choudary is survived by his wife and four children.
