TPJAC Demands CM Clear Pending Rs 58 Lakh Ex Gratia for Sigachi Blast Kin

The Telangana People's Joint Action Committee (TPJAC) has written an open letter to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, appealing to him to ensure the immediate payment of the pending Rs 58 lakh ex gratia to the families of victims killed in the Sigachi Industries explosion in Pashamylaram Industrial Area, Sangareddy.

With the Chief Minister scheduled to visit Sangareddy on Saturday, the TPJAC decided to bring the unresolved issue back to his attention. Revanth Reddy, who visited the industrial site a day after the blast occurred on June 30, 2025, had earlier announced that his government would ensure that the families of each of the 54 deceased receive Rs 1 crore in ex gratia.

More than thirteen months after the incident, the company management has paid only Rs 42 lakh to each family, an amount that included their retirement and insurance benefits.

The victims' kin and the TPJAC have repeatedly demanded that the government exclude personal benefits from the promised Rs 1 crore compensation package. They stated that neither the state government nor the Sigachi management has taken responsibility for disbursing the remaining Rs 58 lakh per family.

The committee pointed out that even after Sigachi management stated it could not pay the remaining sum, the state government took no further action while the families continued to seek justice through the courts. The TPJAC also released a list of demands addressing the pending relief measures.
