TPCC Defers Action Against Konda Surekha and G Chinna Reddy

The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee disciplinary committee on Saturday deferred its decision on initiating action against Minister Konda Surekha and senior party leader G. Chinna Reddy over alleged anti-party and anti-Chief Minister remarks, following a three-hour meeting at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad.
The committee, headed by Member of Parliament Mallu Ravi, reviewed the explanations submitted by both leaders in response to show-cause notices. Surekha sent her explanation through a WhatsApp message, while Chinna Reddy submitted his response in a sealed cover. Both leaders requested that the committee withdraw the notices and close the matter.
During the meeting, the disciplinary committee reviewed video clips of Surekha’s daughter, Konda Susmita, making adverse statements regarding Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and his family members. The panel determined that Susmita had crossed limits and found fault with Surekha for failing to publicly condemn her daughter's statements while serving as a cabinet minister.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Mallu Ravi disagreed with Surekha’s explanation that the remarks were merely personal. He stated that under the principles of natural justice within the party, the minister should have condemned the remarks rather than remaining silent while statements were made against the government and the Chief Minister.
The panel also examined video recordings of Chinna Reddy making comments regarding the Congress party and Wanaparthy MLA Tudi Megha Reddy. The committee decided to seek Megha Reddy’s opinion on Chinna Reddy’s explanation before concluding the matter.
In his written response, Chinna Reddy denied criticizing the Congress leadership, stating he holds top AICC leaders in high esteem and had only highlighted the difficulties faced by long-serving party workers over the past two years and eight months.
The committee decided to convene additional meetings to examine the material further before making a final determination on whether to initiate disciplinary action.
