Tollywood Industry Figures Back M.S. Raju Film Agadha Ahead of August 14 Release

Prominent figures from the Telugu film industry gathered to support director M. S. Raju and his upcoming film Agadha during its pre-release event held ahead of its August 14 worldwide theatrical release. Industry veterans and filmmakers lauded the project for its distinctive storytelling, technical execution, and large-scale visual presentation.

The film, written and directed by M. S. Raju, is positioned as a supernatural drama rather than a routine horror film. Produced by Kasi Visalakshi Balusu under Sri Adi Varaha Productions and presented by Ajay KR, the movie features Kamakshi Bhaskarla and Shravan Reddy in lead roles, along with Jovika Vijay Kumar.

Producer Shyam Prasad Reddy recalled his 45-year association with Raju and praised the film's visual presentation and editing. He drew a comparison between lead actress Kamakshi Bhaskarla’s screen presence and his first impression of Anushka during the making of Arundhathi.

Director B. Gopal highlighted Raju's instinct for identifying strong stories, recalling how Raju had previously predicted the success of Samarasimha Reddy. Gopal predicted that Agadha could achieve success even greater than Raju's earlier hit film Devi. Producer Lagadapati Sridhar called the film a potential defining comeback for Raju, while director Sai Rajesh praised Raju as a kingmaker under whom he had previously learned screenplay writing.

Producer SKN noted that promotional material indicates the film explores multi-dimensional themes beyond conventional horror tropes. Filmmaker Anil Viswanath, who followed the project since its writing phase, described the climax as shocking and futuristic, praising the music composed by Rakesh Venkatapuram alongside the visual work and performances.

Speaking at the event, lead actress Kamakshi Bhaskarla expressed her gratitude to Raju for casting her in the central role, calling it a foundational moment in her career. Actor Shravan Reddy noted that Raju had previously offered him a role in Dirty Hari after seeing him in a web series, making Agadha another milestone collaboration.

Producer Kasi Visalakshi Balusu expressed confidence in the movie following the positive response to its teaser and trailer. Director M. S. Raju thanked his team and explained his approach using a cricket analogy, stating he crafted Agadha like a super over rather than waiting for a late push. Executive producer NVN Subbaraju is also part of the project.
