Three Men Arrested in Malkajgiri for Exploiting Women and Minors Using Tracking Devices

Three men have been arrested in Malkajgiri for allegedly trapping, exploiting, and harassing minor girls and women using intimidation, blackmail, and hidden tracking devices. The arrests of the accused, identified as Rupesh Raj, EN Ravi Raj alias Rafi, and Sohail (Shaik Chand), were reported on Monday. The case has now been presented before a POCSO court in Medchal.

According to the Malkajgiri police, the accused monitored their victims by hiding tracking devices fitted with audio-recording capabilities inside vehicles. The police initially did not invoke Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) charges, despite the serious nature of the allegations. Officials stated that this initial omission was due to political backing enjoyed by the accused. One of the arrested men, EN Ravi Raj, is a close aide of a senior leader in the Indian National Congress (INC).

The POCSO charges were eventually added to the case after Malkajgiri Police Commissioner Sumathi stepped in. Following this intervention, the matter was transferred to the POCSO court in Medchal.

During the ongoing investigation, police officers recovered two additional tracking devices that feature audio-recording capabilities. Investigators state that the discovery of these extra devices suggests there may be other victims who have not yet come forward. Malkajgiri police have appealed to any other affected individuals to contact them and report their experiences.

The police investigation also exposed the past criminal record of EN Ravi Raj. He is currently facing charges in a separate case registered at the Attapur police station. This previous case was filed by his third wife, who alleged that he hid his age and two prior marriages before marrying her.

In that complaint, his third wife accused him of cheating, sexual assault, physical assault, criminal intimidation, and inappropriate conduct involving minors. Police officials stated that the allegations indicate a pattern of predatory behaviour spanning several years, and they maintained that the investigation will proceed without political interference.
