Three Men Arrested for Robbing Auto Driver at Knife-Point in Vattepally

The Mailardevpally police on Thursday, June 25, 2026, arrested three individuals, including two rowdy-sheeters, for allegedly robbing an auto driver at knife-point in Vattepally, Hyderabad. The robbery took place near the Guntal Sha Baba Dargah landmark.

The arrested suspects have been identified by the authorities as Mohd Mahaboob, Mohd Saddam alias Khaleel, and Shaik Raheel.

According to the Mailardevpally police, the crime occurred on June 20, 2026. The three accused individuals allegedly intercepted the victim, who was operating an auto-rickshaw, near the Guntal Sha Baba Dargah. They threatened the driver with a knife and robbed him of his mobile phone and Rs 1,600 in cash.

The victim subsequently reported the incident, leading the Mailardevpally police to launch an investigation. This investigation culminated in the arrest of the three suspects on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

Police records indicate that two of the arrested men, Mohd Mahaboob and Mohd Saddam alias Khaleel, are classified as rowdy-sheeters. Both of them are registered at the Mailardevpally police station and have a history of previous criminal cases filed against them.

During the arrest operation, the police successfully recovered the stolen items and the weapons used. The recovered property includes the victim's stolen mobile phone and Rs 1,600 in cash.

Additionally, the police seized the knife used to threaten the auto driver, along with two two-wheelers that the suspects allegedly utilized to carry out the robbery in Vattepally. All three suspects are currently in police custody.
